Steph Sorensen (she/her) is a writer, parent, activist and organizer. She was selected as a 2022 Unstoppable Voters Action Accelerator by the Center for Artistic Activism, to support and fund a creative pro-voter housing justice campaign with the Pittsburgh chapter of Democratic Socialists of America, where she serves as Membership Coordinator. She was named a Good Hart Artist Residency Writer-In-Residence for 2021, and was awarded the Anne G. Locascio Scholarship to attend the 2020 Mendocino Coast Writers’ Conference. Her poetry has been nominated for Sundress Publications’ Best of the Net. She has been invited to read her work at the Prague International Writers Festival, the Connecticut Poetry Festival, the Sunken Garden Poetry Festival Night of Fresh Voices, and others. 
 
Steph was awarded a scholarship to attend the Writing the Unreal retreat at the Highlights Foundation where she worked with Printz Award winner and National Book Award finalist Laura Ruby on revising a young adult novel manuscript, and continued work on this project at the 2021 Tin House YA Novel Workshop. She earned her MFA in fiction from the University of Pittsburgh in 2007. Her writing has appeared in Gulf Coast, Necessary FictionBarrelhouse, Mississippi Review, Noyo ReviewMatchbook, 3Elements Review, and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. She is represented by Linda Pratt of Wernick & Pratt, and is a member of the National Writers Union. Steph lives with her family in Pittsburgh, PA.
