Steph Sorensen (she/her) is a writer, parent, activist and organizer. She was selected as a 2022 Unstoppable Voters Action Accelerator by the Center for Artistic Activism, to support and fund a creative pro-voter housing justice campaign with the Pittsburgh chapter of Democratic Socialists of America, where she serves as Communications Coordinator, and has previously served as Membership Coordinator and Chair of the Elections & Pressure Campaigns Committee.

 

Steph was awarded a scholarship to attend the Writing the Unreal retreat at the Highlights Foundation where she worked with Printz Award winner and National Book Award finalist Laura Ruby on revising a young adult novel manuscript, and continued work on this project at the 2021 Tin House YA Novel Workshop. In 2023, she was selected to participate in The Forge organizing journal’s Spark & Bellow workshop for activists and organizers.
